Description
Bring a delicate, gemstone-like geometry to your collection with Rhodiola pachyclados. Commonly known as the Afgahn Sedum, this exquisite, low-growing succulent forms neat rosettes of blue-grey, fleshy leaves with beautifully notched edges. In addition, the dense, carpet-forming foliage creates a fascinating texture that resembles miniature carved rosettes. In late spring, it offers a lovely bonus as the cool-toned mat is topped with clusters of tiny, white, star-shaped flowers.
Care Tips:
-
Light: Thrives in full sun or bright, partial sunlight. High light levels keep the rosettes tight, compact, and perfectly formed.
-
Water: Follows a low-water routine. Always let the soil dry out completely between waterings, then soak thoroughly and allow to drain fully.
-
Soil: Prefers a loose, sharply draining succulent mix. For best results, blend your soil with plenty of perlite, grit, or fine gravel to prevent rot.
-
Winter: Thrives in cold conditions. Unlike many tropical succulents, this alpine native is exceptionally frost-hardy but must be kept dry during freezing spells.
