Type: Evergreen Clumping Bamboo
Sunlight: Grows best in Full Sun to Semi-Shade. Full sun encourages the densest growth and richest foliage colour, while light afternoon shade is beneficial in very hot areas.
Water: Water regularly during the first year to establish a strong root system. Once established, keep the soil evenly moist by watering deeply during dry periods, but avoid waterlogged conditions.
Soil: Prefers fertile, well-drained soil enriched with compost. Applying mulch around the base helps retain moisture and keeps the roots cool.
Frost: Frost Hardy. Tolerates light to moderate frost, although new growth may be affected by severe frosts before recovering in spring.
Maintenance: Feed with a balanced slow-release fertiliser in spring and midsummer to encourage vigorous growth. Prune out older canes at ground level and trim lightly to maintain the desired height and shape.
