PEPEROMIA ZORRO 12CM

R57,50

Peperomia Zorro is a compact, distinctive foliage plant with deeply textured, pointed leaves in rich green tones, often showing a silvery sheen and attractive reddish-brown undersides. Its compact growth makes it ideal for shelves, desks and smaller indoor spaces. Like other Peperomias, its fleshy leaves store moisture, making it more tolerant of occasional missed watering, but overwatering is the biggest risk. Give it bright, indirect light, a loose, fast-draining soil mix and allow the soil to dry between waterings for the best results.

Care Guide:

  • Type: Foliage Houseplant
  • Flowers: Can produce tall, slender flower spikes when grown in sufficiently bright, indirect light, although it is primarily grown for its decorative foliage.
  • Sunlight: Bright, indirect light is ideal for maintaining its rich colour and compact growth. It can tolerate medium light, but avoid strong direct sunlight, which may scorch the leaves.
  • Water: Allow the soil to dry out between waterings before watering thoroughly. Always let excess water drain away. The thick leaves retain moisture, so it is safer to underwater slightly than keep the roots constantly wet.
  • Soil: Use a light, airy, fast-draining potting mix that allows excess moisture to escape quickly. Good drainage is particularly important for preventing root rot.
  • Temperature: Prefers warm, stable conditions around 18–26°C. Keep away from cold draughts, heaters and air conditioners.
  • Humidity: Normal household humidity is generally suitable, although it will appreciate moderate humidity. There is no need to keep the soil or foliage constantly wet.
  • Maintenance: Remove yellow or damaged leaves at the base and rotate the plant occasionally to encourage even growth. Its compact form generally requires very little pruning.
  • Feeding: Feed with a balanced liquid fertiliser every 4–6 weeks during spring and summer. Reduce feeding during cooler months when growth slows.

Crucial care tip: Let the soil dry between waterings — consistently wet soil is much more likely to damage Peperomia Zorro than allowing it to become slightly dry.
