Description
Camellia japonica 10LT is an elegant evergreen shrub prized for its glossy, dark green foliage and beautiful rose-like flowers, available in a range of colours depending on the variety. Flowering mainly from winter into spring, it brings welcome colour to the garden during the cooler months. Ideal for shaded borders, woodland-style gardens, containers, screens, and feature planting, Camellia japonica 10LT grows to approximately 2–4m tall and 1.5–3m wide at maturity.

Type: Evergreen flowering shrub with a naturally dense, upright to rounded growth habit.
Sunlight: Plant in semi-shade or bright filtered light. A position with gentle morning sun and protection from harsh afternoon sun is ideal, as excessive heat and direct sunlight can scorch the leaves and damage developing flower buds.
Water: Water regularly to keep the soil consistently moist, particularly while the plant is establishing and during hot, dry weather. Avoid allowing the soil to dry out completely, but ensure excess water can drain away freely to prevent root problems.
Soil: Grow in fertile, well-drained, acidic soil enriched with compost or organic matter. Avoid alkaline soils, as these can cause yellowing leaves and poor growth. An acidic planting mix is beneficial when growing in containers.
Frost: Frost hardy once established, although young plants and developing flower buds may benefit from protection during severe frost.
Maintenance: Prune lightly after flowering only when needed to maintain shape or remove dead and damaged branches. Feed with a fertiliser formulated for acid-loving plants after flowering and mulch around the root zone to help retain moisture and keep the roots cool.
