Care Guide
Type: Evergreen Shrub
Sunlight: Thrives in Full Sun to Semi-Shade. It grows well in a range of light conditions, although some afternoon shade is beneficial in very hot climates to prevent leaf scorch.
Water: Water regularly during establishment, keeping the soil evenly moist. Once established, water deeply when the top few centimetres of soil begin to dry. Avoid prolonged waterlogged conditions.
Soil: Prefers fertile, well-drained soil enriched with compost or organic matter. Mulching around the base helps retain moisture and encourages healthy root growth.
Frost: Frost Hardy. Tolerates light to heavy frost and performs well in most South African climates.
Maintenance: Trim regularly during the growing season to maintain the desired shape and encourage dense foliage. Feed with a balanced slow-release fertiliser in spring for healthy, vigorous growth.
