Description
Buddleja salviifolia 10LT, commonly known as the Sagewood or Sage-leaved Buddleja, is a fast-growing indigenous evergreen shrub or small tree with attractive silvery-grey foliage and masses of fragrant lilac to mauve flowers from winter into spring. The nectar-rich blooms attract bees, butterflies, and birds, making it an excellent addition to wildlife-friendly gardens. Ideal for screening, informal hedges, indigenous landscapes, and feature planting, Buddleja salviifolia 10LT grows to approximately 3–8m tall and 2–5m wide at maturity.

Type: Evergreen Indigenous Shrub / Small Tree
Sunlight: Thrives in Full Sun. Plant in a sunny position for the best flowering, dense growth, and healthy foliage.
Water: Water regularly during establishment. Once established, it is drought tolerant and only requires occasional deep watering during extended dry periods.
Soil: Prefers well-drained soil and adapts to sandy, loamy, rocky, and clay soils. Improve the soil with compost before planting to encourage healthy root development.
Frost: Frost Hardy. Tolerates light to moderate frost and performs well in most South African climates.
Maintenance: Prune lightly after flowering to maintain shape and encourage bushier growth. Feed with a balanced fertiliser in spring to promote healthy growth and abundant flowering.
