Description
Buddleja saligna 100LT, commonly known as the False Olive, is a mature indigenous evergreen tree prized for its elegant grey-green foliage and masses of fragrant creamy-white flowers from spring to early summer. Its nectar-rich blooms attract bees, butterflies, and birds, making it an excellent choice for wildlife-friendly gardens. Ideal as a feature tree, screening plant, windbreak, or for large indigenous landscapes, Buddleja saligna 100LT grows to approximately 4–10m tall and 3–5m wide at maturity.

Type: Evergreen Indigenous Tree
Sunlight: Thrives in Full Sun to Semi-Shade. Plant in full sun for the best flowering, dense growth, and overall performance.
Water: Water deeply and regularly during the first growing season. Once established, it is highly drought tolerant and only requires occasional watering during prolonged dry periods.
Soil: Prefers well-drained soil but adapts to sandy, loamy, rocky, and clay soils. Improve the soil with compost before planting to encourage healthy root establishment.
Frost: Frost Hardy. Tolerates light to moderate frost and is well suited to most South African climates.
Maintenance: Prune after flowering or as needed to maintain shape or size. Feed with a balanced fertiliser in spring to encourage healthy growth and prolific flowering.
