Description
Aglaonema Pattaya Beauty, also known as Chinese Evergreen, is a striking foliage plant with broad green leaves featuring attractive silvery-green centres and darker green margins. It is a particularly adaptable indoor plant and can tolerate lower light than many colourful foliage plants, although brighter indirect light will help maintain its attractive variegation. It prefers warm conditions and does not like sitting in constantly wet soil, so allowing the soil to dry between waterings is one of the most important steps to keeping this plant healthy.

- Type: Foliage Houseplant
- Flowers: Can produce small, pale flowers, but it is primarily grown for its decorative foliage.
- Sunlight: Medium to bright, indirect light. It can tolerate lower light, but brighter filtered light helps maintain healthy growth and attractive leaf colouring. Avoid direct sun, which can scorch the foliage.
- Water: Allow around half to three-quarters of the soil to dry out before watering thoroughly. Always allow excess water to drain away. Overwatering and constantly wet soil are more harmful than allowing it to dry slightly.
- Soil: Use a loose, fertile, well-draining indoor potting mix, ideally with perlite, bark or another material that improves airflow around the roots.
- Temperature: Prefers warm conditions around 18–27°C. Protect from cold drafts and sudden temperature changes.
- Humidity: Moderate humidity is sufficient, and it generally adapts well to normal indoor conditions.
- Maintenance: Remove yellow or damaged leaves and wipe the broad leaves gently with a damp cloth to remove dust and keep the foliage looking fresh. Rotate occasionally for even growth.
- Feeding: Feed with a diluted balanced liquid fertiliser approximately once a month during the growing season. Reduce feeding when growth slows in winter.
Crucial care tip: Don’t keep the soil constantly wet. Let it dry noticeably between waterings before watering again.
