Description
Buddleja salviifolia 2.5LT, commonly known as the Sagewood or Sage-leaved Buddleja, is a fast-growing indigenous evergreen shrub or small tree with attractive silvery-grey foliage and fragrant lilac to mauve flower clusters from winter into spring. The nectar-rich flowers attract bees, butterflies, and birds, making it an excellent choice for wildlife-friendly gardens. Ideal for screening, informal hedges, indigenous landscapes, and feature planting, Buddleja salviifolia 2.5LT grows to approximately 3–8m tall and 2–5m wide at maturity.

Type: Evergreen Indigenous Shrub / Small Tree
Sunlight: Thrives in Full Sun. Plant in a sunny position to encourage the best flowering and maintain its naturally dense growth habit.
Water: Water regularly during the first growing season to establish a strong root system. Once established, it is drought tolerant and only requires occasional deep watering during prolonged dry periods.
Soil: Prefers well-drained soil and adapts well to sandy, loamy, rocky, and clay soils. Adding compost at planting will encourage healthy establishment.
Frost: Frost Hardy. Tolerates light to moderate frost and performs well in most South African climates.
Maintenance: Prune lightly after flowering to maintain shape and encourage bushier growth. Feed with a balanced fertiliser in spring to promote healthy foliage and prolific flowering.
