Buddleja saligna 40LT, commonly known as the False Olive, is a mature indigenous evergreen shrub or small tree with elegant grey-green foliage and abundant clusters of fragrant creamy-white flowers from spring to early summer. Its nectar-rich blooms attract bees, butterflies, and birds, making it an excellent choice for wildlife-friendly gardens. Ideal for screening, windbreaks, feature planting, and indigenous landscapes, Buddleja saligna 40LT grows to approximately 4–10m tall and 3–5m wide at maturity.

Type: Evergreen Indigenous Shrub / Small Tree
Sunlight: Thrives in Full Sun to Semi-Shade. Plant in full sun for the best flowering, stronger growth, and a fuller canopy.
Water: Water regularly during establishment. Once established, it is highly drought tolerant and only requires occasional deep watering during prolonged dry periods.
Soil: Prefers well-drained soil and adapts well to sandy, loamy, rocky, and clay soils. Adding compost before planting will encourage healthy root development.
Frost: Frost Hardy. Tolerates light to moderate frost and performs well in most South African climates.
Maintenance: Prune after flowering or as required to maintain the desired size and shape. Feed with a balanced fertiliser in spring to promote vigorous growth and prolific flowering.
