Description
Buddleja saligna 2.5LT, commonly known as the False Olive, is a fast-growing indigenous evergreen shrub or small tree with attractive grey-green foliage and masses of fragrant creamy-white flowers from spring to early summer. The nectar-rich blooms attract bees, butterflies, and birds, making it an excellent choice for wildlife-friendly gardens. Ideal for screening, windbreaks, hedging, and indigenous landscapes, Buddleja saligna 2.5LT grows to approximately 4–10m tall and 3–5m wide at maturity.

Type: Evergreen Indigenous Shrub / Small Tree
Sunlight: Thrives in Full Sun to Semi-Shade. Plant in full sun for the best flowering and a strong, upright growth habit.
Water: Water regularly during establishment. Once established, it is highly drought tolerant and only requires occasional deep watering during prolonged dry periods.
Soil: Prefers well-drained soil but adapts to sandy, loamy, rocky, and clay soils. Incorporate compost when planting to encourage healthy root development.
Frost: Frost Hardy. Tolerates light to moderate frost and performs well in a wide range of South African climates.
Maintenance: Prune after flowering or as needed to maintain shape and encourage bushier growth. Feed with a balanced fertiliser in spring to promote vigorous growth and abundant flowering.
