Description
Barleria obtusa (Purple) 2.5LT is a hardy indigenous evergreen shrub that produces an abundance of vibrant purple, trumpet-shaped flowers from late summer into autumn. These nectar-rich blooms attract butterflies and pollinators, making it an excellent addition to wildlife-friendly and water-wise gardens. Ideal for borders, mass plantings, informal hedges, and indigenous landscapes, Barleria obtusa (Purple) 2.5LT grows to approximately 1–1.5m tall and 1–1.5m wide at maturity.

Type: Evergreen Indigenous Shrub
Sunlight: Thrives in Full Sun to Semi-Shade. Plant in a sunny position for the best flowering display.
Water: Water regularly during establishment. Once established, it is drought tolerant and only requires occasional deep watering during prolonged dry periods.
Soil: Prefers well-drained soil enriched with compost but adapts well to most soil types with good drainage.
Frost: Frost Hardy. Established plants tolerate light to moderate frost, although young plants should be protected from severe frost.
Maintenance: Prune lightly after flowering to maintain a compact shape and encourage more blooms the following season. Feed with a balanced fertiliser in spring for healthy growth.
