Bamboo Dypsis lutescens 20LT, commonly known as the Golden Cane Palm, is a mature, clump-forming evergreen palm with elegant feathery fronds and attractive golden-green bamboo-like stems. It is an excellent choice for creating instant privacy screens, tropical gardens, poolside landscapes, and large feature containers. Fast-growing and easy to maintain, Bamboo Dypsis lutescens 20LT reaches approximately 4–6m tall and 2–3m wide, adding year-round colour, texture, and a lush tropical feel to any outdoor space.

Care Guide

Type: Evergreen Clumping Palm

Sunlight: Thrives in Full Sun to Semi-Shade. For best results, plant in a bright position where it receives morning sun and some protection from harsh afternoon sun in very hot climates.

Water: Water deeply 2–3 times a week while establishing. Once established, water regularly during dry periods, allowing the top few centimetres of soil to dry slightly between waterings.

Soil: Prefers fertile, well-drained soil enriched with compost or organic matter. Avoid planting in poorly drained or waterlogged areas.

Frost: Light Frost Sensitive. Mature plants tolerate occasional light frost, but young plants should be protected from freezing temperatures.

Maintenance: Feed with a quality palm fertiliser in spring and again in midsummer to encourage lush growth. Remove only old, yellow, or damaged fronds to keep the palm healthy and looking its best.
